A sad but true time

It goes unnoticed by the twenty-something and thirty-something crowd, but anyone older than this get a sad reality check. In the supermarket, there are certain items that have nostolgic sentiment such as Mrs. Butterworth and Vermont Made Syrup. Circa 1950s and even 1970s, these items were okay, but nowadays, they are as taboo as a Pepsi and a Coke. Why? Because of that wonderful four-word phrase 'high fructose corn syrup'.
This is why we have to open our eyes and look out for number One (ourselves) because it's oh-so-obvious that the FDA does not give a damn about us. It's all about the almighty buck.
It's important to start caring for ourselves and take the time to really know what's inside food. Take the time to know what that food will do and what that pill will do once you swallow it. Of course that pill will do something to make you forget the pain, but there is a massive cost -SIDE EFFECTS!
That one pill travels to every area in the body until it reaches its target. This is why there may be neurological disorders, digestive disorders, rash, etc...You get the point? Then when a person gets side effects, they are so accustomed to that quick fix like a heroin addict, that they go back to the Doc and gets something to fix the side effect ailment. This sounds fun! Wow! How many meds can I be on by the end of the week? Month?
Where does it stop? Find a holistic health practitioner or a holistic nutritionist or a naturopathic doctor, or any other modality.

Garlic benefits - not debunked!

Garlic has been researched and touted as a natural healer for years and centuries. Only recently have common folks, on the allopathic side, been giving it a bad reputation because of bad breath. Well, I'll tell you...if bad breath is the side effect of good health, I'll take it! Garlic is not only a natural antibiotic and antiviral, but it lowers bad cholesterol, lowers blood pressure and also thins the blood naturally. If garlic (in its whole food form) is consumed in meals on a regular basis, then the need and use of aspirin and other allopathic blood thinners are not needed.
Here's a quick remedy to alleviate garlic breath - a good handful of parsley! You may suck on breath mints too if desired, but parsley does help diminish that garlic breath. Parsley is also a natural diuretic as well, like some teas.
Give garlic a try for one month. It is always best to give something new a chance for a month so that your body has a chance to adapt and adjust to what it is given.
So go ahead and cut up some fresh garlic for dinner tonight and another night this week! Do it about twice a week for a month and see how good you feel - inside and out! You can cut up a couple of cloves with some onion or green pepper or other produce vegetable of your liking. When cooking with garlic, add the garlic at the end of the meal preparation so that you can reap the most of its goodness. Experimenting and creating in the kitchen is a fun outlet that should energize you and make you feel great! Have fun!

Remember, garlic breath is easily alleviated and a very temporary and minor side effect. Look at the side effects of prescription medications that people take daily. The side effects of prescription medications could range from headaches, numbness, diarrhea, constipation, rash, hair loss, cancer, stroke, heart attack, and even death....so I ask you, do you really think garlic breath is truly a serious side effect?
